What a week….Started rehersals for a new project, likely a trio, but potentially more. Billy, myself and a drummer by the name of Doug Trasher (of Graveyard BBQ fame). It was very promising, to say the least. It’s one of a few bands I hope to be playing with in the near future. Summer’s coming fast, and there’s a lot of music to be made.
The aforementioned Trasher had asked if I could do an acoustic thing with him over the weekend. His instructions: “Come to Medfield with an acoustic guitar. Be there at 1:30.”….OK….. So I showed up, guitar in hand, wondering what I was about to do. Turns out Trasher and I were playing a Breast Cancer awareness event. We set up and played unrehearsed covers for about 2 hours, and it went great. Always happy to do charity gigs.
I had the pleasure of once again seeing Colin Hay at the Natick PAC. It’s the third time I’ve seen him there, and he did not disappoint. Seeing Colin live is church for me.
I highly reccomend seeing him if you ever have the chance. His new album is excellent, too, of course.
On a side note, the Center for the Arts in Natick is an amazing venue. It’s an old firehouse that they converted into a live music venue. It’s very intimate and classy. I would love to do a show there at some point.
If anyone is around, my good friends Evey’s Late Night Dinner(featuring my former Jell bandmates Bob Sansom and Derek Mattuchio) are playing Saturday May 8th at Patriot place, right around 2:30. Check them out if you can.
As for me, plenty of writing going on, and some more recording sessions coming up, so stay tuned………….
