Trial By Fire

OK, it’s been a while.  However, many good things have been accomplished in that time.  The bands been getting better and better.  I’m psyched to say that we  will be playing our first show on June 2nd at Church Boston.  I’m even more psyched to say that we will be joined by the ultra talented Matt Odabashian on keys and organ.  You may know Matt from a band called Grow, out of Rhode Island.  This should really be something.  We’ll be sharing the night with my good friendsEvey’s Late Night Dinner, plus Treehouse Union, and an opening set by my little brother Joe.  Come on by.

I also recently had the pleasure of sitting in with the Jeff Belluci 3 for a show at Harper’s Ferry.  Jeff was one of Billy’s bandmates in Apartment Three.  He’s a real good guy, and it was a lot of fun to do the show.  It was also “International Night” at Harper’s when we played, so the joint was packed and eclectic.  One of the most enjoyable times I’ve had at that club, for sure.  Thanks, Jeff.

On the studio front, after a bit of a lull, we seem to be gearing back up for some action.  A lot of session work upcoming to keep me busy, no doubt.  Be on the lookout for some new video’s soon with Freekish Blues, featuring an Ugly Amps 18.

Finally, after quite a few months, I just got my Equator guitar back from the shop.  I sent it over to John at Mauradian Guitar Co. in Winchester  for some repairs and John did not disappoint.  He’s hands down the best guitar repairman around, plus a great guy.  I’ll never take my guitars anywhere else.  The guitar was made by David Coleman at Equator Instruments.  David’s a lone wolf, makes every guitar by hand, by himself.  It’s a languedoc inspired guitar, true hollowbody, really a stunning instrument.  I love this thing.

Plenty more to come, stay tuned……
