Threw or Through???

Threw or Through???

Are we getting “threw” (around by the enemy) or are we getting “through?”

Every day is different and every day has it’s own challenges. Life is not easy. We may have a schedule to keep but LIFE always throws in an “up” or a “down” and suddenly a schedule flys right out the window. There are times of joy and times of sorrow. There are times when you feel everyone loves you and times you wonder does any one even care?

The enemy is divisive and knows if he can plant thoughts in our minds and make us feel alone and isolated that he can keep us distracted and keep us away from the plans God has.....and ULTIMATELY we end up with a bad day.

How do we counteract the darts the enemy launches our way? How do we find a place of purpose and stability? Instead of being slung and tossed around by every wave in life’s unending ocean.....how can we simply speak “peace” as Jesus did even when we feel anything but tranquility?

1. We must take our thoughts captive: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

2. We must renew our minds: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

3. We must make the best of our time in prayer, worship and God’s word: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because qthe days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Ephesians 5:15-21

We have a firm foundation in Christ Jesus. It’s not His will for us to get THREW but rather to GET THROUGH!
